Before you come
How do I get there?
Fly into El Paso or Midland, then drive about three hours. The last 11 miles are graded gravel; any car manages it in dry weather.
What if it is cloudy?
If cloud covers the sky for your whole stay, your next night is on us. The forecast on our home page updates every evening.
When is the best time to come?
New-moon weeks from October to April: long nights, dry air, steady stars. Summer brings the Milky Way core, and storms.
Can I bring my own telescope?
Yes. Pier pads with power sit behind the north dome, first come, first served. Keep every light red after dark.
